is a little town on the Etna volcano. Razed to the ground by two flows in the XVII century, its town-planning comes from Spain with the houses around wide court. To visit Cathedral dedicated to Saint Lucia, the building of the eighteenth century of the Scorfani family, Butera family and Bufal family. The Municipal Theatre is very active and dedicated to the famous writer Nino Martoglio that was born in this town. It is an important naturalistic centre, famous for its volcanic caves and big variety of fauna and flora. Being near Catania and the main streets, make this place ideal to people that want to organize a pleasant holiday in Sicily.
The Country House Castellano is 1,500 mt. far from Belpasso. In in the central area there is the reception, area relax and a well-stocked bar. In the wide open space there are mountain bike route,, footing, fishing, archery, bowl ground, riding horse.
In the 25 hectares of ground there are eight cottages, some of them built in volcanic stones. They are wide, furnished in a simple and essential way, not to be in contrast with the rustic habitat, but, at the same time, very comfortable.
There are eighteen rooms with 2, 3 or 4 beds, with air conditioned, TV, and a big bath-room. For groups its is possible to add a fifth bed.
The Country House Castellano produces oil, cactus,
and all the big variety of fruits and vegetables that the fertile earth of
Etna generously gives.
In the pleasant restaurant you can taste the typical Sicilian food. And for dinner ... pizza cooked in a rustic oven! During the year you can enjoy parties and shows. |

From 6 aprile road , go to Dusmet road and the follow the signs to Airoport-Asse dei Servizi-Tangenziale Ovest. Take the Asse dei servizi, and then Tangenziale Ovest, go to Misterbianco exit, and from Misterbianco take SS121 Catania-Paterṇ, exit Piano Tavola and follow the signs to Belpasso. Arriving in the village, travel all over Roma road and on the left to Diciannovesima Traversa, to S.M. di Licodia, then on the left again to F.di Svevia road, in the end on the right Cairoli road for 1500 mt. |
